2008 ford mustang
The 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt is a new Mustang model that pays homage to the classic Steve McQueen film of the same name. Also joining the Mustang stable for 2008 is the Shelby GT500KR, which is Ford’s most powerful pony car ever. The rest of the Mustang lineup continues with few changes. These coupes and convertibles are available with V6 and V8 engines in Deluxe and Premium trims. Base versions have a 210-hp 4.0-liter V6. GTs have a 300-hp 4.6-liter V8. Also returning is the Shelby GT500, which has a supercharged 500-hp 5.4-liter V8. The new-for-2008 Mustang Bullitt has a 315-hp 4.6-liter V8 and comes only with a 5-speed manual transmission. Other base and GT models are available with manual or automatic transmission. GT500s are manual only. The Shelby GT500KR is a limited-edition coupe that is only available through select Ford dealers. It packs a 540-hp 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Also available through select dealers are the Shelby GT coupe and convertible, which have a 319-hp 4.6-liter V8. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, and front side airbags. Mustang offers several appearance and trim packages depending on model, including a “Warriors in Pink” edition. Part of the proceeds from sales of this package benefit breast cancer research. The Mustang Bullitt has unique interior and exterior trim, as well as a performance suspension and brakes.
